The remarkable spirit of volunteerism of 12-year-old
PB Middle School student Hannah Bloom earned her a place as the Union Tribune's Spotlight Student of the week. Her commitment to improving her community started in third grade, when she first heard about student council. Since then, she has earned more than 130 public service hours and launched a school-beautification fundraiser, in addition to volunteering with Little League. She was recently elected president of the community service club at
