Date Change: Tiger Teams to Meet May 12

The Operations and Efficiency Ad Hoc Committee has scheduled a status update meeting Saturday, May 12, for all new Tiger Team members and anyone interested in serving on the committee. The meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ballard Parent Center, 2375 Congress St., San Diego, CA 92110. Breakout sessions will be held after a brief group meeting.

Board of Education Vice President Scott Barnett and Trustee Kevin Beiser lead the Operations and Efficiency Committee, which supervises the Tiger Teams.  The goal of the teams is to generate efficiencies and savings, minimizing administrative costs to help with the ongoing budget crisis.

Tiger Teams Roar Back Into Action

The district's Tiger Teams efficiency reviews return with volunteers looking at seven areas within the district: K-12 arts; custodial; landscape; real estate; food services; procurement and warehouse-distribution.

Anyone interested in serving on the review committees are invited to the organizational meeting, 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at San Diego Unified's Ballard Parent Center Auditorium, 2375 Congress St.

Board of Education Members Scott Barnett and Kevin Beiser head up the Operations and Efficiency Committee, which supervises the Tiger Teams.

"Our goal is to generate efficiencies and savings minimizing administrative costs so that more of our resources can go directly to the classroom." said Beiser.

Board Efficiency Committee Sets Second Meeting

Please attend the Tiger Team meeting of your choice Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the times indicated below. All meetings will take place at the Ballard Parent Center, located at 2375 Congress Street, in Old Town San Diego.

1. Transportation “Tiger” Team – 9 a.m., Room 2
2. Human Resources (HR) “Tiger” Team – 9 a.m., Room 1 
3. Special Education “Tiger” Team – 1 p.m., Room 3

The Information Technology (IT) and General Information “Tiger” Teams are not scheduled to meet this Saturday.
