SD schools look to reduce suspensions, expulsions
IN THE NEWS: Starting in September, teachers at San Diego High and other schools will start asking more questions when it comes to how and why students are disciplined under a pilot “restorative justice” program set to go into effect throughout the San Diego Unified School District. Among other things, the program drastically reduces the number of offenses that trigger an automatic recommendation for expulsion. Read more from UT San Diego.
