CHAMPs Students Maintain Commitment to Excellence

Things have been busy at CHAMPs, the Community Health and Medical Practices school at the Crawford High Educational Complex. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency recently hosted students from CHAMPs for the “Be Healthy San Diego” half-day active learning adventure. Students learned about career opportunities in public health, as well as some good health tips for themselves. They heard from the county’s Medical Examiner and toured the labs, plus heard from panels talking about career opportunities and other health issues. In other CHAMPs news, 82 new students have been inducted into the school's chapter of Mu Alpha Theta, the National High School and Two-Year College Mathematics Honor Society. CHAMPs has nearly 200 student members and is the only school in San Diego County with a chapter of this prestigious organization. For more information, please contact CHAMPs Principal William Laine at (619) 583-2501, ext. 2450 or wlaine@sandi.net.
