San Diego Unified employees and guests are invited to attend “Educational Directions” – Thoughts about Education with Diane Ravitch, author of The Death and Life of the Great American School System. This very special program will be held at the Madison High School Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, Nov. 3, from 5 – 6:30 p.m. There is no charge to attend the event, however seating is limited. Diane Ravitch, acclaimed research professor of education at New York University and historian of education, was recently named one of the Atlantic magazine’s Brave Thinkers of 2010. She is the author of numerous publications, most notably The Death and Life of the Great American School System, which reached #12 on the New York Times’ Poli-Books Best Seller List for August 2010.
