The Academy of Business and Technology (AOBT) at Clairemont High School got its mentoring program off to a great start this year with the participation of prominent volunteers such as Supt. Kowba, a special agent for the FBI, attorneys and entrepreneurs.While the Academy's 11th graders have had this privilege for the past two years, this was the first year for the 10th graders. The Academy mentor program provides the opportunity for caring professionals -- who listen and act as role models, to make a visible difference in the lives of students -- to share their interests and hard-won wisdom in areas such as self-esteem, goal setting, academic and career direction.
