David Hickman, in grade 8 at Grant K-8 school, recently competed in the California finals of the National Geographic Bee.
In
addition to being Grant's school-wide geography bee winner, David took a
proctored exam, scored by National Geographic, to determine if he could
move forward to the state level.
Unfortunately, David wasn't a winner and won't move forward to the national competition.
The
contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their
classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public
awareness about geography. Schools with students in grades four through
eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging test of
geographic knowledge.
