Lewis Middle Embraces Online Tutoring Program

Students at Lewis Middle School enjoyed a cool smoothie as a reward for their consistent attendance in their after school support class. These dedicated students receive 30 minutes of homework assistance followed by 30 minutes of English and math support using their student netbooks. Students at Lewis are among the first in the district to take advantage of a new web-based tutoring program called Learning Upgrade. Learning Upgrade’s reading and math online courses use flash animation, songs, video and games to engage today's media-savvy students. Lewis Middle School will be tracking student progress and the impact the new program has on academic achievement.
