This is the text of a telephone message that was sent to families of the two schools closed by the County of San Diego Department of Health and Human Services as a result of a student at each diagnosed with H1N1 virus. The message was sent on Monday evening, May 5, 2009.
“Hello to all Kearny High and SCPA parents and guardians. This is a reminder that your school is officially closed per order of the County Health Department and currently scheduled to reopen on Monday, May 18th. We understand that this process has been difficult and appreciate your patience. We are following the guidance of the County Health Department, which says that if there are children living in your home who attend any other school, they must also remain at home until the end of this week. We have also been asked by the County Health Department to collect information on the health status of our students and families. If anyone in your household has a 100-degree or higher fever, along with cough, sore throat or respiratory symptoms, please notify your child’s school.
"Thank you for providing this information. You will be notified as soon as your students are allowed to return to school. If you have questions, please call the district flu hotline at (619) 260-5475.”
