IN THE NEWS: Student Spotlight -- Daniel Chiu from La Jolla High

Entering the Dream Deferred essay contest this year was kind of random. Daniel Chiu was bored in class one day and decided to look up possible contests in which to compete. The Dream contest, sponsored by Hands Across the Mideast Support Alliance, asked writers to address the issue of civil rights in the Middle East. Daniel won third place.
