Two Kearny SCT Students Selected As USGS Summer Interns

Kearny InternsJunior Teresa Ramos and sophomore Jonathan Truong, both Kearny SCT students, were selected as the U.S. Geological Survey summer interns.

They will be working closely with the California Water Science Center gathering and interpreting data, computer programming, and field work. The goal of the program is to enhance awareness and appreciation of science and encourage students to consider the sciences as a career path.
Both students are enrolled in the EnTec academy, a program supported by a California Partnership Academy grant through the California Department of Education.

The EnTec academy curriculum prepares students for future careers by providing them strong familiarity with web communication and digital resources. EnTec fosters the ability to creatively use digital tools with an environmental focus.
