A series of free workshops for parents, guardians, families and community members starts Jan. 25.
The first session is called ReCentering Parenting and will be held at Cherokee Point Elementary from 6-8 p.m Jan. 25. Free childcare and Spanish translation provided. Other language translation services are available by calling (619) 725-7327.
More sessions of Parenting Workshops are being offered on Wednesday nights at four locations: Jerabek, Miller and Cherokee Point elementary schools and the Ballard Parent Center. Check out the flyers on the Special Education Parent Services web page for workshop titles, times and locations.
Another resource for families of special education students is SibShop: Workshop for Siblings of Brothers/Sisters with Special Needs. This event includes games, crafts and activities geared to siblings of specific needs students, for ages 7-12, and will be held Jan. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Point Loma United Methodist Church.
