SCPA-San Diego Rep Production Honored
Last summer, the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) and the San Diego Repertory Theater partnered on the production of Hairspray. Now that show has received local awards.
The San Diego Theater Critics Circle has honored Victoria Matthews for her role as Little Inez in San Diego Rep’s Hairspray. She received the Sandra Ellis-Troy scholarship from the organization. The show was also honored as Outstanding Resident Musical during the Jan. 10 award ceremony.
More recently, Victoria performed a Hairspray signature song “I Know Where I’ve Been” at the January 17 Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Breakfast at the San Diego Convention Center.
