Many of our schools participate in International Walk to School Day, scheduled for Oct. 6. This year, the schools in the City Heights neighborhood are once again working with the City Heights Community Development Corporation on a mega-walk and Health and Safety Fair. Board President Richard Barrera and Board Member Shelia Jackson will join San Diego City Council Member Todd Gloria for the activities. Students from Central, Euclid, Joyner, Hamilton, Ibarra, Marshall, Fay and Rosa Parks elementary schools are expected to participate.
