It's a fish story from DePortola Middle School

De Portola Middle School and other schools have gone to sea recently as part of the Partners in Education Program with the San Diego Sportfishing Council.
A catch
This highly rewarding program takes an ocean fishing trip to experience one of San Diego’s most unique resources and historic industries.

De Portola Middle School students have had the opportunity to fish twice this year with their teacher Mr. Blakely. Each year, the San Diego Sportfishing Council donates several half-day fishing trips to each of their participating San Diego schools and youth organizations.

The goal of this program is to introduce the next generation of youth to the experience and joys that ocean fishing can bring. The program that the Sportfishing Council offers, provides an experience that may positively influence a youngster for a lifetime.
