District Advocacy Attracts National Media Attention

Our work in Sacramento and Washington, DC, to fight for more funding for K-12 education has attracted national media attention. Lesli Maxwell, Education Week State Policy writer, recently published an article highlighting the leadership of San Diego Unified in fighting budget cuts. An excerpt from the article, including a link to our budget crisis website, is below:

“Most of the school districts that signed the letter are medium-sized suburban systems or small, rural ones. The two biggies that did sign on are San Diego and San Francisco, which together enroll about 190,000 kids.
