Thanks to a grant from the San Diego Foundation and help from several local groups, Lincoln High School’s newspaper, The Buzz, has been transformed into Voices of Lincoln, an online news service. Managed by students in Daniel Camacho’s journalism class, Voices of Lincoln made its debut during a reception at the school Jan. 28. The school worked with the San Diego Foundation, along with the Voice of San Diego online news service, Media Arts Center San Diego, the San Diego Association of Black Journalists and San Diego County Library. At the website, students post news stories, video and can comment on the stories. The web address for the new site is www.voicesoflincoln.com. Students and staff began work this summer with the goal of creating an online community for Lincoln’s campus and neighborhood. For more information, please contact Daniel Camacho at (619) 266-6500 or dcamacho@sandi.net .
Other high schools with online newspapers are Kearny and SCPA.
