Johnson Elementary Students Present Scientific Explorations

Instructors from Campostella Elementary visit JohnsonBig things are happening in the galaxy of Johnson Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Magnet School.

In February, students presented their scientific explorations in a national videoconference with other schools deemed rigorous enough to earn the NASA Explorer School distinction, as Johnson has. The educational event was also competitive, with the winners earning a free trip to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Last year, Johnson students won a trip to Johnson Space Center.

The school’s program has become so widely respected that a team of instructors from another science magnet school, Campostella Elementary in Norfolk, Va., recently paid a visit to Johnson.
