IN THE NEWS: Volcano Strands Students in San Diego

If things had gone according to plan, Claire Fourneaux would be back in her classroom in northern France today. But as travelers often learn, you can’t plan for Mother Nature.

It’s a lesson Fourneaux and 20 of her high school classmates are learning firsthand this week, thanks to a massive cloud of volcanic ash that has grounded flights over Europe and left the exchange students stranded in San Diego for another week. Read more from the San Diego Union-Tribune»
