Lincoln Center for Public Safety Goes to Court

Judge Barbara Major was joined by other professionals, including court reporters, court interpreters, and judicial assistants from the U.S. Marshal's Office, Superior Court, the U.S. Attorney, the Federal Defender's Office, and the U.S. Probation Officer, recently met with students in the Legal and Law Enforcement Careers class at Lincoln High School. The March 24 event, part of the "Open Doors to the Federal Courts" program, allowed students to learn first-hand about the numerous career opportunities in the judicial system and the education and experience required to qualify for these careers. Judge Major and the other professionals discussed procedures in criminal, civil and bankruptcy proceedings, plus the importance of financial responsibilities.
