Mission Bay High School celebrated the official grand opening of its “Buc Café” student store on April 21 with a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Principal Fred Hilgers kicked off the festivities with remarks about the school’s Academy of Entrepreneurship, a program that teaches students real-world business skills and how to run the on-site café. School Board Member John de Beck talked about the important role that business plays in today’s global society.
The "Buc Café" is one of 15 College, Career & Technical Education (CCTE) facilities being constructed using both Prop S and state Prop 1D bond funds. The 750-square-foot café represents a nearly $400,000 investment in Mission Bay High and the community.
